Brother Helps Brother By Musicabe13 Chapter 5
Jess
walked into Bam's room to find him huddled in a corner. When Jess approached Bam spoke.
"I made you and Ape get into
a fight."
"Bam, it's okay." Jess comforted him. "I was just mad and mom knows that. We're not mad at each other anymore.
We both just needed to yell at somebody or we would have exploded. Luckily, we both know the other didn't really mean any
of it."
"I am worthless. All I ever do is cause trouble and make things worse for everyone. I should just kill myself
and save everyone from having to deal with me. No one would care afterward, everyone would be better off without me!" Bam
sobbed.
Jess was shocked by what Bam said and turned Bam around so he was facing him.
"Don't ever say that!
Don't you ever say that, Bam. We need you! You might not be able to see it but we need you. We always will, no matter what
happens." Jess exclaimed before pulling Bam into his arms.
A few leftover tears began to fall from Jess' eyes as he
continued.
"Don't ever think you're worthless, Bam, because it's not true. And don't ever think of...of killing yourself."
Jess had to almost spit the words out. The thought of Bam doing that was enough to bring tears to his eyes.
"Don't
you ever, EVER, think of killing yourself. You have too much in front of you for that and I would never be able to forgive
myself if you did that. I would never be the same without you around."
Bam's only answer was a chocked sob that spilt
Jess's heart in two. It killed him to see Bam like this. Suddenly Jess got an idea.
It hadn't occurred to him before,
he had never showed anyone what it was but now might be the time to share it with Bam.
"Bam, I need to show you something."
Jess told his brother calmly. Bam looked confused but dried his eyes and followed Jess.
Jess led him downstairs and
out to his car. Bam didn’t pay much attention to how long they were in the car, but it wasn’t long. Jess opened
Bam’s door and took his hand, helping him out of the car.
Jess led Bam to a path that trailed along down by
a creek. Bam didn’t know where they were. He didn't look around just stared straight ahead at Jess's back wondering
where Jess was leading him.
"We're here." Jess announced suddenly.
Bam looked around not quite knowing what
he expected to see. Whatever it had been it certainly wasn't the scene in front of him. A large creek flowed past them, the
water wasn't the cleanest Bam had seen.
There were a few trees on either side of a small bench. The trees were a little
scraggly and the bench looked old. Across the river was a small park and some small shabby houses. That was it.
"Where
are we?" Bam asked as he took in the scene before him.
What he had expected he wasn't sure of but not this. Something
more...special? More spectacular maybe?
"I haven't the slightest idea. But it's a good spot." Jess remarked sitting
on the bench and staring out at the river.
Bam sat down beside him, completely dumbfounded to why this place was so
nice.
