Chapter 13
The
phone started ringing around 5pm the next day after Novak tried to end his life. Phil picked up the phone.
P-Hello?
Dr-Hello, this is Doctor Quick from the Westchester country hostipal. Who am I speaking to?
P-This is Phil Margera
Dr-Is this the current home of a 'Brandon Novak'?
P-Yes, did something happened! he tried to end his life yesterday.
Dr-No sir, he's fine and awake, hes up for vistors so if you would like to visit him, visiting hours are from 10am-8pm.
Goodbye
Phil hung up the phone happy and went to find everyone to tell them. He saw Bam and Ryan watching Brandon
kill Raab in mortal combat. Bam looked up
"Fat boy! Ape said she was going to go the gorecry store and get some stuff
for dinner, she wants you to go."
"The hostipal called, Brandon awake and they said he can have vistors."
Brandon
paused the game and turned around and looked at Raab as he spoke
"Yesterday I got so mad at him, it was weird, like
I was mad at myself for not notice but it seemed like I was mad at him for doing it. Do you think he'll forgive me?"
Ryan
laughed and said "Yea or we could pretend you were never mad at all and not tell him."
The guys smiled and plan to go
the hospital around 6.
~~~Later at 6 at the hostipal~~~
Ape, Phil, Jenn, Bam, Dunn, Dico and Raab were waiting
for the elevator with ballons and teddy bear.
"Jesus Ape a teddy bear? just make him feel stupid and embrassed!" said
Dunn laughing "Hes gonna go commit sucided just so we dont teased him about the dumb bear!"
"~GASP~ Ryan Dunn!!!
Dont you dare say that!! and besides i thought it was really cute look its fuzzy and sings a song about getting well soon.
He'll love it!" said Ape defensily
The guys just shook their heads and laughed.
"I hope this elevator doesn't
have a weight limit or we might be in deep shit." Raab said as the elevator opened and they crammed in.
"owww Bam
get your foot off my foot!"
"eww who forget deordent today RAAB!!"
"Somebody move their keys before my balls
get chopped off!"
The complaing happened into their reached the second floor, room 209. They opened the door and Bam
snicked as he saw Novak sleeping curled up on a ball like a little kid.
"Nov? you awake?" Phil quielty spoke.
Novak
rolled over and opened his eyes. He sat up and looked so confused and then he rember everything. The dream, the pain and then
waking up in the hostipal.
"Hey," he said shyly that was enough for Ape to rush over crying almost knocking the IV
out of his arm.
"OMG i was so worried Brandon! DONT YOU EVER DO THAT AGAIN! I was crying so much and it was horrible.
WHAT WERE YOU THINKING LAST NIGHT! WHY DIDNT YOU COME TO ME! O Brandon i was so scared, I never wanna go though that again!
DONT YOU SCARE ME AGAIN BRANDON NOVAK!!"
She couldn't decided if she wanted to cuddle him and hold him and let him
know she loved him like a son or if she wanted to scream and be angry at him.
"I'm sorry"
"APE! you are scaring
him enough get off!" Shouted Bam
"The doctor said you could come home today if you want as long as we watch you. You
wanna? we missed you"
"Yea I guess."
Dico couldnt believe his eyes this was not Brandon Novak this was so
other person. This wasnt the guy that spent a year in jail and hit a guy for saying something to Jenn.
This wasn't
the same Brandon. The loud Novak, who loved to talk. This was some other guy, he was way to quiet and shy to be Novak.
"I'll
go tell the doctor then, be right back" said Raab as he walked out the door, Jenn followed after him.
Novak smiled
as Ape showed him the teddy bear and his cheeks grow red as she push his paw and the singing started.
Dico walked
over to Ryan, and Bam and said "He looks diffrent, not very Novaky."
"Yea I know, its weird, kinda scary a little."
The doctor walked in and said "So you want to go home Mr. Novak? I think that can be arranged as long as you do not
leave westchester or infact the Margera household and come back to the hostipal. We almost must require you to see a cousnel
and if your friends agree you must go to a rehad center. Your record says you were a herion addact. Do we have a understandment,
No leaving Mr. Margera house for atleast a week, some counseling time, and possible a rehad center?"
Novak seem to
pale at the mention of a Rehab center and counseling.
"Yea...I understand."
"OK good, next week, Saturday
I would like for you to come for a group meeting." he said as he unplugged his IV and handed him his clothes and pointed to
the bathroom.
Novak thanked the doctor and walked into the bathroom and pulled on the jeans and sweatshirt somebody
had bought for him.
He walked out of the hostipal and into a cab with Dunn and Bam on each side. (the cky crew take
a cab home, and ape, phil, and jenn take Ape's car home.)
~~~~A couple of days later~~~~
Novak felt suffucated,
everyone was watching his everymove. He knew people were coming in in the middle of the night to make sure he was sleeping
and okay. Everyone wanted to hug him and tell him how much he meant to them.
But the weridest part of it all was they
were trying to act like they werent. Every hug had a reason, all the glances were done secretive. He couldn't stand it. He
was going though withdrawl and his feelings for the end were just as strong.
One night he walked into the kitchen
expecting everyone to be sitting there like they did every morning now to make sure he was eating and happy. But to his surpise
there was only Dico looking for a drink.
"Hey Novak how you feeling everything good?"
"JESUS FUCKING CHRIST
LEAVE ME THE FUCK ALONE IM FUCKING SICK OF THIS BABYING SHIT!!!! GOD DAMMIT!!!" Novak felt hot tears come to his face and
he started walking away intill he felt someone grab his arm.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know you felt like that. I kinda
understand how this would be annoying having everyone trying to make sure you were ok."
"It's just...like im so fucking
sick of this everyone just excepts im gonna grab a gun and shoot myself that second." He blinked away the tears and take a
deep breath. His whole body shook as the tears went away. "I just wanna feel like one of the guys again, you know go do shit
and not have people constaly worry about me."
"I see..I have the perfect soltuion!! Let me grab my keys and my wallet!Wait
here!" Dico said as he ran out of the kitchen and came back.
"No one saw good! lets go!" Dico opened the back door.
"Dic, Im not allowed to leave the doctor and Bam would kill me." Dico grab Novak and put him over his shoulder and
started walking.
"DICO!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!" Novak said in a loud voice.
"What does it look like I'm kidnapping
you so now you wont get in trouble."
Novak took a second to think about this and decided Dico was right. Dico got
out to his car and dumped Novak in the passanger seat.
After a couple of minutes of silents Dico stopped infront of
a K-mart.
"Stay here!"
"What are you doing here? its Kmart."
"Kmart has everything."
A couple
of mintues Dico came out carrying a bag, he started up the car and drove around intill he stopped at a Motel 8.
"We
have reseverations here lets go." said Dico as he opened Novak door.
"Do i even want to know?"
"No"
